This course is designed for you.

This is the go-to course for those who have been wanting to learn how to apply the basics of Jyotisha / Vedic Astrology to either enrich their lives or to understand and serve their clients better. This class will serve as a comprehensive introduction for those who have simply been wanting to learn some of the secrets of this ancient science. While Jyotisha is a vast and beautiful science that can take a lifetime to master, there are many parts that can easily be learned to enhance other Vedāngas / limbs of the Vedas, such as Āyurveda, Yoga, etc. or simply to enrich one’s life. This is what I will share with you!

In this course you will learn how to:

• Gain invaluable insight into a client, yourself, or anyone else

• Understand one’s physical constitution - know what types of illnesses they are most prone to experience

• Give targeted recommendations to help facilitate healing and bring balance - such as foods, lifestyle, and herbs

• Tell when life will be easier, when it will be more difficult, and the exact dates these changes occur

• How to balance life’s most challenging phases and how to maximize the easeful ones

• Easily see where one’s soul purpose is in life

Every session will have homework and reading assignments to further engage you as a student and help you to easily absorb the week’s subject.

This one-of-a-kind class begins on Monday, February 19th, and will be 8 2-hour sessions in total. Class time will be at 6-8 pm EST every Monday except for April 8th. The last class is on Monday, April 15th.

You will leave this class with additional tools that increase your discernment and insight empowering you to further help your clients and/or navigate your own life.

This course will cover:

- Bhāvas / Houses
- Rāśis / Constellations
- Grahas / Planets - and how to assess their strengths or weaknesses
- Prakriti & Vikriti (Ayurvedic Constitution)
- Manas / how to assess the mind
- Gocara / Transits
- Vimśottari Daśā / Life Periods
- Most important Yogas / planetary combinations
- Basic strengths and weaknesses in a chart
- As an extra, all of the above will additionally be discussed as it relates to Āyurveda to help one expand their practice if they are practicing Āyurveda professionally, though this isn’t required to attend this course

Meet Your Instructor

Richard G. Powell, AD (Dhyānānanda) - is a NAMA certified Doctor of Āyurveda. He is a graduate of the Ayurvedic Institute and has studied extensively under Dr. Vasant Lad in the US and India. He furthered his Ayurveda and Vedic philosophy studies under Dr. Ashwin Shastry of Arogya Niketana in Karnataka, India. Upon returning to the United States, Richard pursued advanced classical Ayurvedic studies in a clinical setting at the Arogya Center in Albuquerque, New Mexico, under Kashyapa Fisher for an additional four years. Richard is an Ayurvedic Doctor at the Ayurvedic Center of Vermont where he gives consultations, teaches, and gives treatments. Complimenting his extensive education in Āyurveda, Richard has been studying and teaching yoga for 25 years and is an ERYT-500. He is an avid student of Sanskrit, Jyotisha (Vedic Astrology), and Vedic philosophy. He has been studying Vedic Astrology in the Mantriji / Hart DeFouw lineage for more than 10 years, most prominently under Penny Farrow with whom he still studies.

In addition to his studies in the Vedic sciences, Richard is a Reiki Master and is an avid practitioner of Aikido, the Japanese martial art. His passion for earth healing meets his devoted studies in physical, mental, and spiritual health as he was formerly a permaculture designer and educator. Richard believes that by aligning with nature and the Divine we will find not only our own optimal health but also greater peace and balance in the world. He brings his comprehensive experiences and education into his consultations with his clients to empower them to find fulfillment, peace, and healing.
